Given the time of year, this might sound like a tall tale, but it’s all true. At some point, I knew it was bound to happen. Years ago, my father worked on a project researching how to keep termites from chewing through foam insulation boards. Within a few months, we had to deal with termites in the house. He always said that it was because of that project – sort of the termites’ revenge.
I’ve been writing this blog for eight months, telling all about how Drain Punch is the best way to defeat blocked drains and get your plumbing flowing freely again. Sure enough, just like my father dealing with the termites, I found myself facing the very thing I had been writing about.
THE SITUATION
After 14 years in the house, the drain in the upstairs bathroom suddenly began to run slow. When I was brushing my teeth, or washing my hands, I would notice that the water was flowing out more slowly than it used to. I didn’t think too much of it at first… I have long hair, and based on knowledge gained from writing this post: https://nonaciddraincleaner.com/%22punch%22-lines-blog/f/let-drain-punch-help-you-knock-out-hair-and-makeup-clogs, I figured that some of that hair, combined with soap residue and toothpaste, had begun to create a blockage. As I was busy doing many other things (the bane of modern life) I didn’t do anything about it right away – it was still draining, right?
My mistake.
One day the day came where the water just didn’t seem to be draining at all. It just sat there, a soapy, sudsy pool of liquid that simply didn’t go away. After a few minutes, as I stared at it in consternation, there was a sudden, clearly audible ‘glug’, a few bubbles rose up from the drain, and the waters began to slowly recede.
Very slowly.
Leaving behind a soapy residue.
Attempts to rinse the residue away resulted in the situation repeating itself (this also made the sink really hard to clean – every attempt to scrub away the soap scum deposited more in a vicious cycle). Clearly, ignoring the situation was just not viable any longer. I had to take action. Fortunately, I knew just what I needed to solve my worsening predicament – I needed Drain Punch.
FINDING THE PUNCH
Having decided I needed to act, I set out to get some Drain Punch. I went right over to www.nonaciddraincleaner.com. I clicked the “Buy It Now!” button on the menu and the website gave me my options. I could buy it direct or get it from one of the many distributors listed on the site. As I needed my Punch fast, I decided that I would go pick it up from a distributor.
Looking over the options, I noticed that Southern Plumbing & Heating Supply Company had a store in Yorktown, Virginia. As I had cause to go to Yorktown anyway, that seemed to be a good choice. I clicked on the conveniently placed “Find A Southern Plumbing” button, which took me right to their website, where I could see the locations of their stores. Under the Yorktown store I clicked on “Get Directions,” and I quickly had what I needed to find my way there. All of the distributors listed on https://nonaciddraincleaner.com/buy-now-1 have “Find A” buttons, and all of them will get you what you need to find the most conveniently located store.
GETTING THE PUNCH
A short drive later, I found myself at Southern Plumbing’s Yorktown store, which I found quite welcoming. I went on in and knew immediately that I was in the right place. Up on the shelf behind the register was, displayed in a place of prominence, a bottle of Drain Punch.
I asked the helpful clerk for Drain Punch, and to my surprise, he didn’t get the bottle off the shelf. Instead, he reached right under the counter in front of him, under the register, and brought out a bottle. You know something really sells if a store has it available right at the register. I made my purchase and picked up the bottle.
On the way out to the car, I noticed something right away about the Drain Punch. The bottle was heavy, much heavier than I would have expected a bottle of drain cleaner to be at that given size. While I knew from my work on this blog that Drain Punch was the real deal, the weight was my first in-person indication that I was holding a seriously powerful product.
PUNCHING OUT THE DRAIN
With my Drain Punch in hand, I headed to the bathroom to confront the clogged drain. It’s important to take proper precautions when using a potent product like Drain Punch. You can read more about those precautions here https://nonaciddraincleaner.com/%22punch%22-lines-blog/f/drain-running-slow, but the basics are you want to keep the Drain Punch from coming into contact with you. Drain Punch dissolves organic matter, and remember, you are organic matter. The bottle also does have helpful information about what to do if some of the product does come into contact with your person.
First, I washed my hands, as I wanted to have some water in the sink so I could gauge how fast the drain punch worked. Then, wearing gloves, I poured half of the bottle of Drain Punch into the sink, and to my surprise, I could actually hear it flowing down the drain, through the water in the sink. I knew Drain Punch would work right through standing water, but hearing it do so really drove it home for me.
Very quickly, the familiar glug, much louder than it usually was, occurred, and the water began to drain. I could tell it was already draining faster than before. Of course, I gave the Drain Punch half of an hour to work, but the sink was drained well before then.
After half an hour had passed, I went back into the bathroom and ran some hot water. I was pleased to find that the sink was now draining like a champ. The Drain Punch has clearly worked its magic on my clogged sink, and I am certain that it can do the same for you, too.
No Fooling.
